The lawyers of the Firm are qualified and competent to appear at all levels of the Philippine judiciary, both civil and criminal courts, and before quasi-judicial and administrative bodies, arbitration tribunals, as well as the Congress of the Philippines.

While the Firm was founded only in 1993, its beginnings can be traced to 1972 when Enrique M. Belo, Felipe L. Gozon and Magdangal B. Elma first formed their law partnership. After going on their separate ways, the founding partners reunited in July 1993 as the Belo, Gozon & Elma Law Offices.

In June 1994, the Firm became The Law Firm of Belo Gozon Elma Parel Asuncion & Lucila.
